MEDS Venture is One-Stop End-to-End Industry Decarbonization Partner. Our Journey
How Far We’ve Come
National Research Foundation (NRF) granted the Energy Research Institute at Nanyang Technological University (ERI@N) an SGD18 million project aiming at developing an Artificial Intelligence platform (DECAPLAN™).
It optimises the supply-demand of different energy sources (electrical, thermal & other renewables) to reduce the CO₂ footprint and energy consumption. RMA Fiventures Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (hereinafter known as RFAP) was extensively involved in designing a Combined Cooling Heat & Power (CCHP) at Jurong Port to pilot test the ERI@N Digital Platform.
2016-2017
ERI@N’s DECAPLAN™ Digital Platform is structured as a platform “suite“ with three main functionalities: Planning, Operation and Validation & CO₂ Certification. In addition to DECAPLAN™, ERI@N kickstarted a new R&D program, Distributed Energy Resources Management System (DERMS). DERMS is an SGD12 million project aiming at developing a decentralized platform helping Distribution System Operators (DSO) manage their grids in the presence of a large number of intermittent resources (solar PV, EV, wind turbines, etc.). This project is the prototype of Singapore’s future grid.
2018
RFAP continued the basic engineering design of the CCHP pilot plant and was awarded the Design & Build Contract from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on 1st Jan 2021. Combining respective core competencies and resources, a conclusive MEDS business model was developed between a spin-off of ERI@N’s digital platform managed by the fathers of DECAPLAN ™ and RFAP.
